Dan Stewart’s caring for the community is shown in these work examples:

  • Provided cancer survivors free copies of Lance Armstrong’s Live Strong cancer survivor notebook, a result of observing the courage of a friend’s battle with cancer.
  • 1992 - Formed the first MADD Chapter between Jacksonville and Baton Rouge as a result of a child’s death in a motor vehicle accident.
  • 2008 - Formed BEAA, the only organization in the nation to educate children about the dangers of texting while driving to prevent 100,000 annual accidents, as a result of a child’s death in a motor vehicle accident. Both Eyes – Arrive Alive.
  • Supported the Kennan Kids Foundation at www.keenanskidsfoundation.com.
  • The Stewart Foundation - Organized to provide safety information to children and families. Modeled after The Keenan Foundation.
  • 1980’s - Helped organize The Congressional Youth Award for the First Congressional District of Florida to recognize local youth through Congress.
  • 1990’s - Served for years as the District Chairman of Blackwater District of Boy Scouts until merged with Escambia County.
  • Fundraising efforts to support disabled veterans during Iraq war inspiring National Effort; recognized by national news personalities.
  • Supported over 500 youth sports teams.
  • 2007 - Encouraged Wal-Mart to sell local farmers’ produce. This program has been implemented Nationwide after over two years of work.
  • 1990’s - Provided input through self-funded trips to Pentagon and Congressional leaders in Washington D.C. through local BRAC delegation to maintain local military bases.
  • Supported transfer of aircraft carrier to Pensacola. Privileged to sit in the Admiral’s seat as entered Pensacola Pass to NAS Pensacola.
  • 2006 - Founding member and organizational draft person of a group to focus on education to reduce taxes in Santa Rosa County. Ideas presented to local county leaders included by neighboring Escambia County group later organized for presentation to Escambia Commission.
  • 2010 - Fundraising to provide dog parks and dog safety programs instituted in Santa Rosa County. Santa Rosa Dog Parks, Inc..
  • 2010 - Formed Web Page www.srcjc.org and Facebook page Santa Rosa County Judicial Center to educate and draw support for a new county courthouse.
  • About TEAM Santa Rosa
  • Early 1990’s - Organizational chair for entity that continues to provide tourism, economic development agriculture support, and military support for Santa Rosa County.
  • 1990’s - Instituted through local Chamber of Commerce a Hall of Fame Award to recognize lifetime contributors. First Award was presented to Judge Woodrow Melvin through his daughter Judge Laura Melvin.
  • Served as a Board Member on local Chambers of Commerce to support local small business growth for thirty years. Organized and instituted numerous programs.
  • Bankrupting Terror-One Lawsuit at a Time - Supported Shurat Hadin’s efforts to stop terrorism and take terrorist money wherever it may be – from any bank on this planet – one lawsuit at a time.
  • Santa Rosa Heroes - Sponsored and hosted TV show to honor 25 volunteers. The first was John Barnes, now deceased, who led and helped fund the county’s Veteran’s Affairs Office.
  • Sponsored and hosted legal educational programs for citizens at local junior college.
