Yaz News: Yaz side effects bellwether cases to be selected
The most recent Yaz news to come out of Judge Martinotti’s court arrived with the previous case management order on July 8, 2011. The order laid the ground rules for the establishment of a bellwether discovery pool. The bellwether cases that Yaz lawyers ultimately take to trial will be selected from the lawsuits included in the discovery pool. The initial pool will include 18 cases, 9 selected by the Yaz lawyers of the plaintiffs and 9 by the Yaz lawyers for the defendant, Bayer.
Each side has been instructed to divide their selected cases according to the specific Yasmin and Yaz side effects the plaintiff alleges to have suffered. The selection of cases for bellwether trials, made in accordance with Yaz lawyers for both sides, has a current deadline of December 2011, with the first bellwether trial date tentatively scheduled for September 10, 2012.
